Dr. Vani Shree is an acclaimed expert in classical Ayurveda and Panchakarma, with over two decades dedicated to restoring health and balance through ancient healing methods. Her approach combines academic precision with an intuitive understanding of human nature.

Before founding the team in Balkatmane, she spent over 17 years leading the Aditya Birla Group's network of elite Ayurvedic clinics in Mumbai. This experience enabled Dr. Vani to learn how to work with people living active, high-pressure lives – entrepreneurs, politicians, artists – and help them return to a state of inner balance.

At Balkatman, Dr. Vani personally oversees every treatment programme, controlling the selection of procedures, oils, and diet. Patients note her gentle, attentive, and truly maternal approach, thanks to which recovery happens naturally and deeply.

Dr Sarita T. is a doctor of the new generation, combining academic science with the practice of traditional Ayurveda. A native of Udupi district, she graduated from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and continues her research there in the field of Roganidana – Ayurvedic diagnosis and pathology.

Over the years, Dr. Sarita has conducted over 11,000 hours of clinical consultations and more than 29,000 hours of teaching at leading colleges in India.

At Balkatmane Ayurvedic Retreat, she is responsible for the accurate diagnosis of dosha and the body's condition, helping patients understand the roots of their imbalance and select the optimal Panchakarma programme. Her approach is characterised by attentive observation, scientific thoroughness and deep respect for each guest's individuality.

Dr Bhavana Bhat K. is a certified naturopath and restorative practices specialist, a graduate of Alva’s University. She combines traditional yogic therapy methods with modern natural healing tools.

Her professional sphere includes acupuncture, acupressure, cupping therapy, nutritional science, and lifestyle correction. In her work, Dr. Bhavana emphasises a holistic approach – restoring energy balance, body flexibility, and emotional stability.

In Balkatmane, she helps patients with stress, pain syndromes, chronic fatigue, and sleep disturbances by creating individual programmes for gentle recovery through movement, breathing, and nutrition.

BAMS, Ayurvedic and Preventive Medicine Specialist

Pavel Peresypkin is an Ayurvedic doctor from Russia who has been living and practising in India since 2015. He graduated from the prestigious SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital (Hassan, Karnataka), receiving a BAMS degree – Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery.

Pavel combines clinical practice with research activities: he is the author of publications on traditional Indian medicine and a translator of classical Ayurvedic treatises. He is currently undertaking an MD course in Dravyguna—the study of Ayurvedic medicinal plants and phytopharmacology.

In Balkatmane Ayurvedic Retreat, Pavel assists Russian-speaking guests, helps adapt treatments to their usual lifestyle, advises on nutrition, and explains the philosophy of Ayurvedic health in an understandable way. His presence makes the therapy process particularly comfortable for those discovering Ayurveda in India for the first time.

      Included in the price

      • Accommodation in a luxury room – spacious rooms, decorated in a traditional South Indian style, with views of gardens and coconut palms.
      • Three vegetarian meals a day — fresh dishes from our home-style Ayurvedic kitchen, herbal drinks and seasonal fruit.
      • Daily consultations with doctors — brief check-ups and a few in-depth sessions with the clinic’s chief physician, during which your dosha (constitution) is determined and treatments, oils, diet and medication are selected.
      • Panchakarma procedures and therapies – an average of about three hours per day of cleansing and restorative sessions (abhyanga, shirodhara, nasya, etc.), fully tailored to your programme.
      • Daily yoga and pranayama sessions led by an instructor — gentle, safe practices designed to harmonise the breath, body and mind.
      • Support from a Russian-speaking Ayurvedic doctor — assistance with communication, translating recommendations and explaining the nature of the treatments.
      • Weekly cultural excursion — once a week, a trip is organised to local attractions of your choice: temples, beaches, river cruises or walks through the mangrove forests.

      This format allows you not simply to undergo a course of treatment, but to spend each week striking a balance between physical purification and inner peace.

      Charged separately

      • Transfer to/from Mangalore Airport. The cost is around 3,300 rupees one way.
      • Upon request, we can arrange personalised lectures on Ayurveda — ranging from an introduction to the philosophy of health to practical advice on nutrition and self-care throughout the different seasons.

      Placement

      Each of Balkatmane’s eight rooms is a spacious, thoughtfully designed space for rest and relaxation. The décor blends contemporary elements with traditional South Indian touches – natural wood, warm colours and soft lighting.

      The main feature is the sense of cosiness and tranquillity. Nothing here distracts you from your rest, and the attentive staff take care of everything, down to the smallest details, so that guests can focus entirely on their treatment and recovery.
