Panchakarma courses in Sri Lanka usually last 14–28 days. The programme is put together based on individual medical history: diagnostics, preparatory oil treatments, main cleansing techniques, herbal medicine, diet, and a recovery phase. Most commonly, people go there for chronic fatigue, sleep disturbances, digestive disorders, and the consequences of prolonged stress.

A separate country with its own school of Ayurveda (Sinhalese tradition) and state regulation through the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine. In practice: an ETA visa is simpler than India's e-Visa, English is the official language, prices are lower than in Kerala, and centres are almost all located on the coast. The course protocols are similar to those in Kerala, but the format is more intimate and budget-friendly.
Sri Lanka periodically changes its visa regime for Russians: sometimes an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization, obtained online from the Ministry of Immigration website) is required, and sometimes simplified entry is in effect. Before travelling, be sure to check the current rules on the official website. eta.gov.lk or through the consulate – the rules can change even a month before departure. The visa is obtained independently; we can advise on the process.
Most are on the west and south coast: Beruwala, Bentota, Wadduwa, Kalutara, Hikkaduwa. These are 1.5–3 hours by car from Colombo International Airport. There are a few centres on the east coast (Trincomalee, Pasikudah) – they operate during the opposite monsoon season.
The main international airport is Bandaranaike (CMB) near Colombo. It's a 1-3 hour drive from there to the clinics on the west coast. Flights from Moscow usually involve a layover in the UAE or Qatar, taking around 8 hours in the air. Transfers from the airport are included in most clinic packages – we monitor this.
The climate is divided by monsoons. The west and south coast (where most clinics are located) have an optimal season from November to April: dry, warm, and calm oceans. From May to October, it is the Yala monsoon with downpours; the east coast is in its dry season at this time. According to classical Ayurveda, the monsoon is considered the best time for deep Panchakarma: open pores absorb oils better, and the body responds more deeply to the course.
English is an official language of the country, alongside Sinhala. Doctors and senior medical staff speak it fluently, which simplifies consultations and protocol discussions. Russian-speaking assistants are available in some major centres – this will be confirmed upon booking.
