Description

Nagarjun Ayurvedic Centre (NAC) – one of the major divisions of the eponymous Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group, playing an important role in promoting the centuries-old experience of Vedic medicine.

The Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group is currently comprised of 5 divisions:

  • Nagarjuna Herbal Concentrates Ltd (manufacturers of ayurvedic pharmaceutical products);
  • Ayurvedic Centre Ltd (network of Ayurvedic medical and wellness centres in India);
  • Ayurvedic Institute (its own international-level research institute for training specialist Ayurvedic doctors);
  • Research and Development Wing of Nagarjuna (the largest scientific research sector with a laboratory, quality control and certification department);
  • Social Service Society (a company whose mission is the cultivation and breeding of medicinal herbs and plants).

As can be seen from the specialisation of its divisions, the NAC group of companies, in addition to providing Ayurvedic medicine services, is involved in the production of pharmaceutical products, the majority of which consist of self-cultivated medicinal plants, as well as research work, training specialists for work in Ayurvedic medical and health centres, and popularising Ayurvedic knowledge through the mass media.

A group of Ayurvedic companies proudly bears the name of the great Buddhist philosopher and thinker Nagarjun, who lived approximately in the 2nd-3rd centuries. From Sanskrit, «nagarjun» translates as «silver serpent,» which signifies immortality and eternal life. It is he who entwines the Bowl of Hygieia – a symbolic sign of medicine.

Treatment programmes

Ayurveda has up to 20 different Ayurvedic treatment programmes, lasting from 14 to 42 days. To achieve a deep effect and real results from the treatment, patients must stay in the Ayurvedic hospital for at least 2-3 weeks. Your trip to India for less than this period will not bring the expected results, and the money spent will effectively be thrown away.

It is also necessary to take into account that the purpose of each Ayurvedic programme is individual, depending on the constitution, lifestyle and specific illness profile of the person concerned. The patient may be prescribed only cleansing at the initial stage (this is 2-3 weeks) or a full complex for deep cleansing of the body, «Panchakarma», which will require the longest duration of time – up to 42-45 days.
