Nikki’s Nest

Nikki’s Nest is an Ayurvedic resort hotel on the shores of the Arabian Sea, located 20 km from Trivandrum International Airport, near an ancient fishing village in southern Kerala. Since 1996, the centre has specialised in Ayurvedic treatment, health and wellness programmes, offering guests an immersion in traditional treatment methods, yoga and holistic practices.

Nikki's Nest has gained particular popularity among solo female travellers looking for rejuvenation, personalised care and attention. The resort features 51 rooms across seven categories, two restaurants, a sea-view yoga hall, a swimming pool, a beauty salon, a gift shop and a library.

Nikki’s Nest has been honoured with a number of prestigious awards confirming the high standard of services provided:

• Ayur Diamond Class — the highest degree of recognition for Kerala's Ayurvedic centres from the state government's Department of Tourism. The award is presented for compliance with strict standards of infrastructure, quality of service, availability of qualified specialists and adherence to classic treatment protocols.
• Accreditation NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) is a hallmark of quality, confirming that the centre follows process-oriented protocols in clinical, administrative and management functions, including patient care, medication control, infection control and compliance with patient rights.
• Five stars as part of the National Sanitation and Cleanliness Assessment («Green Leaf Rating for Cleanliness») — an award from the Cabinet Secretary of India, granted based on the criteria of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation and the Ministry of Tourism.

The medical team of Nikki’s Nest and the treatment approach

The centre employs 2 senior doctors with over 30 years of experience, 5 junior doctors (available round the clock), 2 nurses, 3 pharmacists and 30 general practitioners. There are 20 rooms equipped for procedures.

Ayurvedic treatment begins with a detailed consultation on the day of arrival, during which doctors gather information to create an individual plan. Daily mini-consultations are held before treatments for potential adjustment of the therapy. On the final day, there is a concluding consultation with an assessment of progress and recommendations on lifestyle and diet.

All external Ayurvedic oils and powders are produced under the own brand Prakrithi Satthwa Oushadhashala at a GMP-certified manufacturing facility. Guests can visit the partner Duke’s Forest Lodge and see the process of preparing the medicinal blends.

Yoga and meditation

Yoga and meditation classes are held from Monday to Saturday, with four sessions a day. The style is Sivananda. Individual classes are also available for guests who require special attention.

Group fitness timetable:

• 06:30–08:00 — advanced level
• 08:15–09:45 — intermediate level
• 10:15–11:45 — beginner level
• 17:00–18:30 — intermediate level

Nutrition

In the centre are two restaurants with a sea view: a vegetarian one Hibiscus (Ayurvedic cuisine) and Orchid (seafood is available upon request and in special cases).

Standard meals are buffet-style with healthy vegetarian dishes. If guests have medical conditions, doctors recommend an individual diet. The kitchen accommodates any restrictions: allergies (onion, garlic, tomatoes, aubergines, peppers, pineapples, peanuts), as well as gluten-free and vegan diets. Guests are asked to report their requirements in advance so the team has enough time to prepare.

At Nikki’s Nest, artificial food colorings, essences and preservatives are not used. No semi-finished products, sauces with flavor enhancers, carbonated drinks or energy drinks are kept. Ingredients come from their own plantation at Duke’s Forest Lodge and from a family garden. Meat is not served, as the resort adheres to eco-friendly principles.

• Transfer from Trivandrum airport and within the city is included in the package when booking full board.
• Intergender procedures: are not held.
• Vamana and Virechana: are provided based on state of health and medical recommendations.
• Online consultation: available for free (currently) depending on doctor availability, from 10:00 to 16:00 (IST).
• Serious illnesses: The centre accepts patients with complex diagnoses, though a preliminary online consultation is recommended to assess the treatment prognosis.
