A fine example of traditional Travancore architecture and one of the last surviving monuments of the colonial era. Kanakakkunnu Palace is located in the city, approximately 12 km from Ayursoma. Various cultural festivals and events are held on the palace grounds.

Akkulam Tourist Village

A favourite spot for picturesque picnics by a lagoon with its own boat club. Besides peaceful evening relaxation and boating, Akkulam can offer scenic surroundings and a well-equipped children's park with a swimming pool. The village is located approximately 10 km from the city of Thiruvananthapuram.

Kovalam Beach

Kovalam Beach, also known as the Southern Paradise, is one of the must-visit destinations in Kerala. The area is famous for its beautiful beaches and tourist resorts and is located just 9 km south of Ayurshoma. It has three beaches: Lighthouse Beach, Hawa Beach, and Samudra Beach. Napier Museum

This is a museum of art and natural history, founded in 1855 and located nearly 13 km from Ayurshoma. It houses a significant collection of bronze idols, sculptures, antiquities, temple chariots, and other historical artefacts. The Napier Art Gallery displays many renowned paintings, including works by the famous artist Raja Ravi Varma. This museum was named after Lord Napier, Governor of Madras from 1866-72.

Padmanabhaswamy Temple

This seven-storey structure is a magnificent specimen of Kerala's temple architecture. Thousands of people come here throughout the year to pay homage to the Hindu god Vishnu, to whom this temple is dedicated. Vishnu lies on the multi-headed serpent king Anantha, and from his navel sprouts a lotus flower with Brahma, the creator. This temple is one of the main attractions of Thiruvananthapuram. The sanctuary is located approximately 11 km from Ayursoma.

Kerala State Science and Technology Museum

The Museum of Science and Technology was founded in 1984 to popularise scientific knowledge in India. There are interesting exhibits on electronics, mechanics, and electrical engineering available, which will appeal to both children and adults. You can also observe the starry sky and learn about the structure of the Universe at the Priyadarshini Planetarium, which is part of the museum.

Thiruvananthapuram Zoo

The zoo was built as an addition to the Napier Museum and has become one of the main tourist attractions.
