A holistic approach to health
The United Nations World Health Organisation (WHO) defines health as «a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity». The Oxford Dictionary mentions holistic medicine as «the treatment of the whole person, including mental and social factors, rather than just the symptoms of a disease», and therefore Soukya's philosophy is to treat the individual holistically, taking into account their mind, body and spirit.
The phenomenal progress of modern medicine has led to super-specialisation. As a result, people are often viewed as a soulless collection of organs. However, it is crucial to understand ourselves as multi-dimensional beings possessing body, mind, and spirit. These three aspects are inextricably linked, and true well-being requires a dynamic balance of them all. Holistic medicine views the patient as a person within the context of their environment. Thus, holistic treatment is based on the individual's physical, psychological, social, nutritional, environmental, and spiritual needs.
The fundamental principle underlying holistic treatment, practised only by Ayurveda centres in India, The natural defence and immune system of an individual, when strengthened, can independently heal and prevent diseases.
Mind
98% chronic conditions are linked to psychosomatic issues. Stress and lifestyle factors affect your health and psychological well-being.
For example: IBS, diabetes, spondylitis and other chronic illnesses are all consequences of suppressed stress.
The mind is an important and integral part of a human being. It is powerful and, at the same time, vulnerable, and any illness can manifest in both mental and somatic spheres. At Soukya Clinic, you will be taught to achieve inner balance, which helps to cope with the stress inevitably encountered along the way, and thus avoid mental and physical illnesses. The centre's specialists will teach you to understand yourself, as well as the causes and symptoms of stress. The breathing techniques, meditation (dhyana), deep relaxation (yoga nidra), and yoga asanas practised here will improve your concentration and help ensure clarity of thought. The medicinal herbal oils, shirodhara, massage, etc., used during the procedures will also have a positive impact on your ability to focus on what's important and will help you better understand the flow of energies in your body.
Body
A lack of physical exercise, hereditary factors, and a fondness for unhealthy eating habits can lead to an imbalance in the body. This manifests in chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system, such as diabetes, arthritis, spondylitis, and so on. Female disorders of hormonal imbalance, menstrual problems, infertility, and so on. It will take from 7 to 10 years for the state of imbalance to reach a painful condition.
The human body needs to be refreshed from time to time. Monotonous and routine work takes its toll on your body. At Soukya Clinic, you can achieve true relaxation. Muscle tension is relieved through energy-balancing massage, while the body is rejuvenated with hydrotherapy, vegetables, and mud baths. Sensory therapy is one of the many treatments available at the centre, leading to profound rejuvenation.
At Soukya Clinic, experienced doctors will conduct an assessment to understand the level of your imbalance and will develop a treatment protocol that will reverse the disease process.
Spirit
Any long-term physical or mental health problems drain your spirit. The clinic's doctors will conduct an in-depth study of your emotional anxieties and worries that have plagued you from childhood to the present day, which have affected you on a deeper spiritual level. Soukya has developed a unique methodology to understand this and uses time-tested techniques and procedures to free your spirit from negative influences. This is achieved through meditation, prayer, self-reflection, counselling, and specialised procedures.
The spirit is a source of energy stronger than the mind or body. The inner self must be at peace and in a state of radiant health. Visit Soukya to restore harmony, calm your mind, uplift your spirit, and regain a sense of well-being.
Ayurvedic treatment at Soukya Centre
Holistic medicine integrates traditional medical systems (such as Ayurveda, homeopathy, naturopathy) and complementary therapies (including yoga, acupuncture, and reflexology) to help the body manage illness and accelerate the healing process – this is precisely what Soukya offers.
The success of integrative treatment lies in the ability to select and blend appropriate medical methods without compromising the authenticity of each individual system. In addition to a thorough understanding of the impact of each procedure, it is crucial to possess the wisdom and experience to implement the chosen method. Treatment efficacy is enhanced when additional attention is given to the individual needs of all patients.
Preferring a person-centred rather than a system-centred approach, Soukie places great importance on disease prevention, early intervention, and strengthening the body's defences. Health issues are diagnosed and assessed through the necessary thematic investigations. Personalised treatment programmes are only developed after detailed assessments of overall health have been conducted.
For those already receiving other treatments or medications, the treatment protocol takes this into account, and if necessary, the programme will be conducted in conjunction with the guest's consultant/doctor.

A scientific approach to Soukya Centre's treatment procedures
We are delighted to inform you of very encouraging developments in the research involving Soukya, and to share with you some of the findings from their research activities, which were conducted at a prestigious London centre – namely, the Thrombosis Research Institute (TRI).
The main aim of the research was to analyse the biochemical changes that the body undergoes during Ayurvedic and holistic treatments at Soukya centre.
Tests were carried out on 40 people both before and after a course of treatment. The individuals underwent a comprehensive programme which included procedures such as: Shirodhara, Abhyanga, Vasti, Yoga and meditation, etc., for a duration of 10 days or more.
Overall, in nearly 80% patients, vital signs were better when comprehensive treatment was administered than when traditional European medicine was used.
Hotel Soukya Food
